Dream Lover Come Rescue Her!

Symbols in this Dream
Recurring dreams, house, bedroom, kiss

The Dreamer
This dream was submitted by a dreamer who wishes to remain anonymous, we will call her Annie the anonymous dreamer. She has had this recurring dream for the past five to six years. She doesn't know how many times she has had the same dream, but she said she has "had it a ton (of times)". Recently, she turned thirty and has proactively taken on the venture of dating (probably the reason why she recently had this dream again- other men only make her think about her dream man more). By this I mean that she has dated more men in the past 21 days of her life than my two roommates and I have dated in our past 21 years.... combined. The man in her recurring dream is a long time friend and crush of hers, his name for the purposes of this blog is Alejandro (Ale-Ale-jandro, Ale-Ale-jandro). So lets move this thing along and get down to the neety greety....

The Dream
"I walk into my house, which is actually my sisters house but in my dream it's mine, and I see my husband, Alejandro, hanging out around the tv with all of his buddies.  In some of the dreams they are watching football or basketball and other dreams they are playing video games.
I set the groceries down on the counter and ask Alejandro, in a stern voice, if I can speak with him in the bedroom.  His buddies give him a hard time like "oooo - Alejandro, you're in trouble!"  Then we walk back to our bedroom and Alejandrois about to say something when I just lay one on him.  A really nice, passionate kiss.  The kind that makes your toes curl and makes you have butterflies in your stomach.  Then I say "I just wanted to say hello."  He smiles and kisses me again.
Then we walk back out to the living room/kitchen area and he sits back down with his buddies and I start putting the groceries away.  I can see that his buddies are confused because Alejandro has a huge smile on his face, so instead of giving them any information I just ask if they want a snack.  Then I wake up."

The Interpretation
Let me just clear something up, actually clear my conscience, before I begin... Yes, I listened to "Dreamlover" by Mariah Carey while working on this entry (you can too! Dreamlover) I can say that I'm eighty-five percent certain that Annie has awoken with these lyrics in her head everytime she has had this dream.
Ok, Annie is obviously really, REALLY into this guy (which is so cool by the way, I wish I had feelings so strong that my subconscious had to unleash in the form of a recurring dream). In an earlier entry which was also about recurring dreams I posted the following definition "Emotions and urges against which we feel powerless, and which may become obsessive." Annie's dream fits this definition like spandex fits on Oprah.
Annie walks into her house, or her territory, and Alejandro is there. He is on her turf, he is hers.
She pretends to be mad at him for something that is common for wives to be upset about, idolness. This shows that Annie knows that something about the way Alejandro acts towards her or towards their relationship (in real life) should not be acceptable, but she chooses to ignore it, which is represented when she calls him into the bedroom, because despite his "unacceptable" behavior she "lets him in". A persons bedroom is a very intimate place, it is the place where we are most vulnerable (when we are asleep).
The other people in her dream are people they know in real life. She makes them think one thing (that she is mad at him), but then behind closed doors in her bedroom she shows him how she really feels, with a kiss, ok not just a kiss, an Oscar winning, breath taking, knee weakening, caress of lips. A kiss, this kiss, Annies kiss, represents her commitment to him, her unconditional acceptance of the person that he is and her desire for him to give the same to her.
Her dream ends with a roomful of people who have been mislead and have inaccurate perceptions about her realationship with Alejandro, which probably parallels her real life.

Leftovers
I found out that soon after having submitted this dream Annie came clean to Alejandro about her feelings, so maybe this interpretation came too late, but I think that it will really help Annie to see their relationship from a different perspective. Alejandro was not receptive to Annie's confession and expressed to her that his feelings for her are purely platonic. I know that this dream has become an appendage to Annie's life, and now that she has faced her feelings, sadly, she may never have this dream again. True love is a miracle, so Annie you keep workin it girl, thirty and flirty! One of these days (hopefully very soon) your dream lover will be standing in front of you, but he'll be tangible and you'll pinch yourself, but it won't be a dream anymore. Be patient because after five years of dreaming about it, that kiss that you've been waiting for will be worth it.

Auntie Em, a twister! A twister!

Symbols in this Dream
Tornado, Money, Beach, Bicycle, Recurring Dream

The Dreamer
This submission was by Alia Calano. She has had recurring dreams centered around tornadoes. A recurring dream can happen for the following reason: "The need for repetition indicates that the same or similar situation is present in the life and so the same message is pertinent for the dreamer’s progression." http://www.som.org/1dreams/reruns.htm

The Dream
#1
The first one was about a tornado in vegas, that pretty much tore down the strip and money was flying everywhere. I had to walk home from work, and we could still see the tonado just pushing its way through. I watched the stratosphere fall to peices.
#2
The second I was by a beach, and cliffs, and the day was clear, I was on a bike and i saw the tornado form.. there were about 3 tornadoes in that dream..

The Interpretation
On both occasions that Alia had these tornado dreams she was in a relationship. In Book 2, under my citations, it says that a tornado signifies "Emotions and urges against which we feel powerless, and which may become obsessive." I don't necessarily think that the emotions associated with the tornado are negative, despite tornadoes being viewed in a negative light. They can be any type of emotion, love, hate, elation, sadness....
In the first dream Alia saw money. Money symbolizes power. The  money in Alia's dream was being blown around and carried away. There is a possibility that she felt like she was losing power at this time in her life or felt powerless against something that was happening.
In the second dream, Alia felt more peaceful. The setting in which her second dream took place was at the beach. The beach represents an emotional openess to new experiences.
The last symbol is the bicycle. It represents "pursuing your own path".
The reason that I broke this dream down into symbols is because I want Alia to see the parallels between her dreams and the events that were happening in her life at the time of the dreams. I want Alia to see for herself what her subconscious was trying to tell her through her dreams.

Leftovers
Recurring dreams are not a coincidence. We have them when our inner self is trying to send us an important message, something we need to pay attention to. Recurring dreams are the road signs of life. "Slow down", "Yield", "Stop"...

All You Need is Love

Symbols in this dream
sick, vomiting, guilt

Info about the dreamer
This dreamer wishes to remain anonymous. Therefore I will not disclose any information that might identify this person. The dream that was submitted is below, exactly as it was emailed to me. I did get this additional background information: "Last time I talked to him was probably around Christmas/beginning of the new year. Our relationship kinda ended unfinished. We didn't fight or anything, but our last time out/date I realized we were in different places. I just kinda stopped talking to him. He is in a relationship now."

The Dream
I was in my house walking down the hallway toward my bedroom. My bathroom is directly across the hall from my bedroom. I noticed someone's feet on the floor of the bathroom (in the laying down position). So I walked in there confused as to who would be in there because the house was empty, I knew I was home alone. It was this guy I use to date off and on in the past. I had no time to question why he was there. He was kneeling over my toilet barfing. When I realized it was him, I started to console him. Rubbing his back, comforting him. I felt sooo bad for him. He soon stopped throwing up after that. It's a little hazy for a moment but then my dream cuts back into us sitting on the bathroom floor talking to each other, what has seemed like for a few hours. I have no clue what we were talking about. I felt every emotion from happy to sad to anger to peace and excited. But it was a rush of it, like when I had cut back into the dream, I was also given the cliff notes of what emotions ran through me during that conversation. Still without knowing what conversation/details were attached to those emotions. We stood up and I walked over to the sink and started washing my hands. He came up behind me, just standing really close and then when I started to look over my shoulder to see why he was standing so close, he wrapped his arms around me. He whispered something in my ear, but I didn't hear what he said because I woke up.

The Interpretation
Ok, so first of all when someone is telling me their dream, I am imagining the dream as I read or hear it. As I was reading the part where she noticed someones feet one the floor I thought "Run girl! Someones about to keeeell you!". Its very interesting that she did not feel fear, but curiosity. Right at the beginning the dream it is established as being a dream that is about peace and making peace. He was sick when she found him, vulnerable. I don't know if that was because she wanted him to let her nurture him, but he never let her (in reality), or if it was because in reality this is the role that she played in his life. Either way, the vomiting allowed her to nurture him in the dream and may also represent her feeling that there are things he needs to "get out of his system" (emotionally speaking).
The next part that stood out to me is that she "felt soooo bad for him". This dreamer has unresolved feelings of guilt about what happened in her relationship with this guy.  At the same time the spectrum of emotions that she experienced in the dream most likely parallel the feelings she had while she was actually dating him and still has when she thinks about him him or runs into him. These emotions along with the very last part of the dream are the keys in determining what this dream means for the future.... She is at peace with the way things are, but has not ruled out the possibility of ending up with this guy. A whisper is so intimate, so gentle, so.... peaceful. This dream definitely came full circle and ended where it started.

Leftovers
I read a book once (I wish so badly I could remember what it was) in which the author wrote about these African refugee women. They had been through the devastation of war, loss of homes and death of loved ones, but the stories they told were not centered on these events. Their stories were about their losses and heartache in love. They spoke of the men who they had loved. Love and companionship is the most powerful human instinct. Some may argue that we seek food and shelter before we seek love, but I refute that arguement, we seek those things only to survive so that we can find love. Our dreams are often linked to the emotions we are feeling or have felt related to love. All you need is love, du-du-nuh-nuh-nuh, all you need is love, love, love is all you need.....
